Certificate Description

This certificate studies the specialized needs and issues of working with the Student client affected by CD.  

They are aware of resources available to students affected by chronic disorganization and understand the unique aspects of working with students.  They understand very clearly the importance of having a wide variety of learning theories and organizing strategies to make the appropriate suggestions for each client situation. They are able to focus on each client's strengths to facilitate learning in all areas. 

An ICD subscriber who has earned the Level I Certificate of Study in Students and Learning Theories has completed 6 hours of education in this area in addition to 6 hours of general education in Chronic Disorganization.

The requirements of this certificate are

  • Be a current ICD subscriber
  • Have earned and submitted the Foundation Certificate in Chronic Disorganization
  • Attend six specialized class that earn STU, LS, SLS or SLT credit, such as: (available in the ICD Vault)

    • Time Management Tools for CD Teens
    • Assisting Clients with Learning Disabilities in Adulthood
    • Supporting Clients with Intellectual and Cognitive Challenges
    • Student Neurodiversity
    • Case Study: The ABCs of Organizing Students
  •  Complete a Certificate of Study Application online

Please note

  • Class credits are good for three (3) years as information in these fields can become outdated.
  • Classes can be applied to a maximum of two (2) different certificates. However, the same class cannot be applied to both the Level I Certificate of Study, and the Level II Specialist Certificate within the same subject area.
