ADHD Specialist Certificate

Certificate Description

The Level II ADHD Specialist Certificate builds on the Level I Certificate of Study in ADHD.
An ICD subscriber who has earned the Level II ADHD Specialist Certificate has completed at least twelve hours of education in topics particular to working with the population affected by ADHD,  in addition to six hours of general education in Chronic Disorganization.  They have read a minimum of four books related to ADHD and passed an exam based on that reading.

The Requirements of the certificate are

  • Be a current ICD Subscriber 
  • Have received the Certificate of Study in ADHD
  • Complete required readings:

      - Pages 25-26 - What is Executive Function?
      - Pages 113-115 - ADHD Coaching
      - Pages 204-210 - Clients With ADHD

    • ADD-Friendly Ways to Organize Your Life by Judith Kolberg & Kathleen Nadeau, PH.D., Brunner Routledge, 2016. (Buy it on Amazon)
  • Attend six ADHD classes. None of these classes can have been used on your application for the Level I Certificate of Study in ADHD
  • Pay for and pass the ADHD Exam within the last two years.  Contact the Certification Program Director for waiver information. The ADHD Exam is composed of 25 multiple-choice questions, based on the above readings. Visit our Exam PageThere is a fee for the exam registration.
  • Complete an application for the ADHD Specialist Certificate online. There is a fee for the Specialist Certificate.
  • Pay the required certificate application fee.

Please Note

  • Class credits are good for three (3) years
  • Classes can be applied to a maximum of two (2) different certificates. However, the same class cannot be applied to both the Level I Certificate of Study and the Level II Specialist Certificate within the same subject area.
