Satwant Singh, DPsych, is a Nurse Consultant in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Mental Health. In addition he is a Professional and Strategic Lead for Common Mental Health Conditions and Clinical Lead for an Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) a primary care psychological service providing NICE recommended therapies in the UK. He has been involved in the national IAPT programme since 2005 with the inception for one of the two demonstration sites (Newham). Satwant is BABCP Fellow, accredited therapist, supervisor and trainer. His areas of clinical expertise are in anxiety disorders, depression, hoarding disorder and personality disorders. Satwant provides individual & group CBT, Behavioural Couples Therapy, consultations and clinical supervision to both qualified and trainee therapist. He teaches, facilitates master class workshops and presents at conferences both nationally and internationally including Netherlands, Turkey and US. He has been actively involved and collaborated in research and published in the field of first, second language and CBT, group therapy, hoarding disorder and visual methods. His research interest are in CBT, laguage and therapy, hoarding disorder and primary care physical and mental health. For the past 10 years, Satwant has facilitated the London Hoarding Treatment Group the first and only national treatment group for hoarding disorder. He has recently co-authored a self-help book Overcoming Hoarding for hoarding disorder published in November 2015. Overcoming Hoarding is to be translated into Mandarin and Turkish.
