Problematic Stuff: Death, Memory, and Continuing Bonds,  an Archeological Perspective
Class is at 2 pm ET
With Dr. Lindsey Buster, Lecturer in Prehistoric Archaeology/Post-Doctoral Research Associate
Description:
Professional organizers are on the front line in helping clients deal with stuff. It's apparent that people often find it difficult to dispose of everyday objects after a loved one's death, but why? Research suggests that these objects help to establish continuing bonds with the dead, and that this phenomenon was as commonplace in the past as it is today. As such, understanding our deep-rooted relationship with stuff can help us broach this often taboo topic in the present.
