The Requirements of the certificate are:

  • Be a current ICD Subscriber 
  • Have received CD Specialist Certificate 
  • Have received the Certificate of Study in Basic ADD Issues with the CD Client 
  • Complete required readings: 
    • ADD-Friendly Ways to Organize Your Life by Judith Kolberg & Kathleen Nadeau, PH.D., 2002.
    • Driven to Distraction: Recognizing and Coping with Attention Deficit Disorder from Childhood through Adulthood by Edward M. Hallowell, M.D. & John J. Ratey, M.D, 1995. 
Chapters 1 through 5 only
    • Attention Deficit Disorder: The Unfocused Mind in Children and Adults by Thomas E. Brown, Ph.D.
, 2005.
    • More Attention, Less Deficit: Success Strategies for Adults with ADHD by Ari Tuckman, PhD. 2009.
    • Fidget to Focus by Roland Rotz, PhD and Sarah D Wright, M.S., A.C.T., 2005.
  • Attend six additional ADD teleclasses. None of these classes can have been used in your application for the Level I Certificate of Study in Basic ADD Issues with the CD Client.
  • Pass the ADD Exam within the last three years. Click here for waiver information. The ADD Exam in Chronic Disorganization is composed of 25 multiple-choice questions, based on above readings and general ADD knowledge. - Click here to see our Exam Page.
  • Complete an application for the ADD Specialist Certificate either online or mail with fees to ICD. The fee of $102.00 includes $15.00 nonrefundable application fee.
